Learn about Hawaiʻi Island Cultural Experience
The Hawai‘i Island Cultural Learning Experience is a unique, place-based educational journey designed to create lifelong memories for students.
This experience integrates with the 4th-grade thematic curriculum and emphasizes learning through performance and cultural knowledge at wahi pana (storied, sacred, and historical places).
Students will deepen their appreciation for Hawaiian culture, community, and history through oli (chants), mele (songs), mo‘olelo (stories), and hula (dance). By visiting these significant locations, they will strengthen their ‘ike Hawai‘i (knowledge) and pilina (relationship) with the ‘āina (land).
